First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sephora.
Operations Consultant
So I had 2 interviews. First was a quick phone chat with recruitment, like 15 minutes, just the usual stuff about my application. He asked when I was free and set up the next interview at the store. He was pretty direct and nice, and even sent me some company videos after I mentioned wanting to grow with Sephora. The second interview was 2 days later at the store, lasted about 45 minutes. The store director had a list of questions from HQ, and after explaining the role a bit, she asked me about clients, work hours, and the store vibe. A week and a half later, I got the job offer from recruitment, and it took another week to get the onboarding sorted with the store director.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Sephora?
- What skills from your past jobs do you think would be useful for this role at Sephora?
- Could you describe your previous work experience?
Operations Consultant
i applied a few days prior and got a call around 6/7 pm from a beauty consultant. i thought i was interviewing with the operations manager but it was actually the store director. the interview was alright until he asked if i was willing to leave my other job. i said i'd do both since it was a seasonal position. then he asked where i saw myself in a few years, probably expecting an answer about growing within the company, but i didn't say that because it's a seasonal role with early start times and a low hourly wage. if you're looking for part-time or full-time, maybe consider it, but for seasonal, i wouldn't recommend it.
- do you see yourself growing within the company
- where did you come from
- tell me about your experience
Operations Consultant
I went through three interviews for this role. The first one was a group interview. After that, I had a second interview with a beauty leader from Sephora and then with a store manager from JCPenney. The whole process took about two to three weeks and was pretty straightforward. There was also a part where some candidates had to do a makeup application demo. The interview with the beauty leader was fun and really laid back, which was great.
- What motivates you to want to join Sephora?
- What makes you want to work for JCPenney?
