I first met with one of the department managers who really liked my resume and wanted me on the team. After that interview, I tried to reach out to him multiple times but never got a response. So, I called Sephora directly and spoke with a manager who explained the situation. She then had me come in for an interview. Following that, she scheduled another interview for me, which was a floor exercise to show my skills. When I came in for the floor exercise, she said I did an amazing job, was exactly the candidate they were looking for, and would call me by Friday. I never received a call and ended up playing phone tag for two months until they informed me that the position had already been filled.

There were 3 of us and we all went into her office and sat on a couch in front of her desk. She asked us questions and left them open ended so any of us could answer them first. I made sure to always be the first one to answer. I'm not big on group interviews but it wasn't terrible. The other girls had just graduated high school and I am 20 so there was a little bit of age difference between us. I would try to make conversation with them when we were waiting on the manager to come get us but nothing. If you have a group interview don't let the others get to you!! I think we were all just nervous and didn't know what to expect. I was interviewed Monday and its Wednesday, she said she had a busy week but if we haven't heard from her by Friday then she went with a different person. I'm crossing my fingers I get it! I feel like I done really good and I was the only one who asked questions at the end. She was very friendly and made all of us feel very welcome. I have been in sales and customer service for 2 years so we will see!! The only thing I'm worried about is I don't have open availability like the other girls because I do have another job, and one of the girls knew someone that worked at that jcp sephora and that girl put in a good word for her.... so if I don't get a call I know why! haha I really hope I get it!! (I haven't yet accepted or declined, just waiting on the call!!)

I applied at sephora and sephora inside jcpenny around the same time. I got a call from sephora inside jcpenny about 4 months after applying for a seasonal role. I had my first interview with the manager, which was a brief 20-minute one-on-one session with simple questions. She said she'd call me for the second interview by Monday, but called on Wednesday. I was a bit upset but figured she was busy with the holiday rush. My second interview was also a one-on-one with a senior team member. She asked me to role-play selling a foundation and then to sell skincare based on her needs. It was high pressure without training, but I guess I did okay because they called a few days later with a job offer of $10/hour, which I accepted. Now I'm just waiting for my schedule.
