First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sentara Health.
Business Analyst
About a month after applying, I was invited to record myself answering questions with a 1-minute timer for each. There were 12 questions total and no option to retry. I tried to follow up with the recruiter, but they just forwarded me to the hiring manager. The manager then contacted me to set up a panel interview. The manager mentioned that if I had questions, they'd first ask if I had tried asking a coworker. After the panel interview, I tried following up with the manager twice with no response. I reached out to the recruiter again, and they forwarded me to the manager once more. Finally, the manager sent a template rejection email that started with a generic greeting and used the wrong name. It felt unprofessional and uncaring.
- Describe a past failure.
Business Analyst
I had a great experience in the interviews, actually. I met first with the hiring manager for 30 mins, then had another hour long interview with her and the rest of the team the position supported. I was told I would hear back the following week with an answer. I let that week pass, then reached out to both the hiring manager and recruiter asking for an update. I got an email back from the recruiter saying they would look into it, and then when I checked back in I never heard anything. I had a great experience in the interviews so would definitely reapply, but was disappointed with lack of communication at the end of the process.
- Considering the job description, what aspects of the role do you feel align well with your skills, and what do you anticipate being a challenge for you?
Business Analyst
I submitted my resume online, and then a Sentara recruiter reached out to me. I had an interview with four people, and each of them asked me questions. I felt prepared, and the interview went well. I looked at the job details and compared them to my own experience, seeing this role as the next logical step in my career.
- In a scenario of disagreement with a coworker, how would you approach it?
