Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sensirion.
Product Manager
So first I had a call with HR, and then a second interview with both HR and the hiring manager where we talked about the role, the company, and my background. They asked a lot of questions to gauge my understanding of user centricity and my product management experience.
- Could you solve some Fermi problems?
- Why are you interested in this role?
- How do you approach user centricity?
Product Manager
The interview process started with an online 1-hour session. It included technical questions and product management-related questions. I felt the interviewer expected me to know all the sensor details, which seemed unreasonable given I was applying for the job. The interviewer mentioned that many candidates had already completed their second interviews and that I might be rejected due to applying late. While I'm not upset about not getting the job, the interviewer's attitude was unprofessional and rude, especially since they decided to interview me even with better-suited candidates already processed.
- Can you tell me about your motivation?
- What are your thoughts on the technical aspects of sensors?
- Do you have any questions about the job role?
Product Manager
The interview process was quite efficient and streamlined. It included an online meeting with the line manager that lasted about an hour, followed by a 4-hour in-person session with upper management, the team, and HR. The HR person who organized everything was very responsive and provided quick feedback.
- Can you explain the functionality of one of the sensors?
- What is the physics behind how it works?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
