Behavioral Presentation

It was a 2 round interview process. There was no coding test, so the interviewer focused more on background and experience. The interview was conducted in Japanese, not English. It wasn't too difficult. You might need to prepare slides to present your research.

The interview questions were pretty standard, but the HR team was really unprofessional. I interviewed in early October and then waited about 4 weeks for feedback. They kept saying things like "We're still waiting for a response and can't give you a timeline" or "Sorry, the leaders were traveling last week, we'll see what we can do this week." Finally, I got an offer! But then they asked me to upload my current degree certificate, which I don't have because I've already graduated. Meanwhile, three different HR people contacted me asking for the name of the HR person handling my case, and it seemed like they didn't know I had already graduated, even though the interviewers knew. They gave me two choices: either get a university offer letter to upload or prepare for another interview for a full-time role. They also said they take internships seriously and have high standards, and their policy is inflexible. It's just an internship, why so serious? And why do three HR people need to work on the same thing without sharing info? They should have just declined me if they weren't going to offer. My previous experiences at Microsoft and Google had recruiting processes that took about a week. The management seems disorganized, the recruiting team doesn't know the process well, and the company might be too centralized. Everything seems to require approval from the top leader, which isn't normal. There's a difference between dictatorship and power distribution. The recruiting process needs improvement.
