So the interview involved a portfolio review and then some questions. I had to present my past projects and explain the reasoning behind my design choices. They were more interested in my design process and how I worked with engineers and stakeholders, not just how the final designs looked.

The interview process was frustrating. A constant question was about working overtime. While I understand different work hours might be a thing in China, being asked this repeatedly felt like a red flag. The HR person from China was also rude. Several things stood out: 1. They kept rescheduling a simple phone call. Even after I gave them multiple times that worked, they wouldn't call and wouldn't even let me know they weren't going to. 2. Communication was really bad. I was ghosted for a whole month even after asking for updates. They also took ages to reply on WhatsApp (their preferred method) and then got mad when I didn't reply within 15 minutes. 3. They posted the exact same job description on LinkedIn before I even decided if I'd take the offer. Overall, I felt disrespected throughout the whole thing, which made me turn down the offer. Maybe it was just a bad experience, but it was one of the worst job searches I've had.

I applied via LinkedIn and heard back from them in about two weeks. The interview involved four rounds in total: three technical and one management-focused. I made it through two technical stages but unfortunately didn't pass the third technical one. The entire hiring process typically spans 3 to 4 weeks.

It was a virtual onsite interview. The interviewer was very friendly. First, I gave a brief self-introduction. Then we had an hour-long discussion about computer architecture, covering some basic concepts. It felt more like a conversation. Afterward, the interviewer asked about my past projects, noting that my experience was somewhat limited. Following that, there was an easy coding task to implement 'memcpy'. Finally, I was asked if I had any questions for them.
