Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seneca Family of Agencies.
Administrative
The interview process had two rounds in total. The first round involved three interviewers, and the second round had one interviewer. It was an average interview process. Many thoughtful questions were asked in the first round by both interviewers. The second round was much easier, and the overall experience was great.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this position?
Executive Assistant
I applied online and got a phone call from HR a week later. They asked why I was interested in the job and then talked about the requirements. I was scheduled for a group interview the following week. They sent an application to fill out and bring with me. There were 5 people interviewing when I went in. We were asked about our strengths, areas for improvement, how we handled a past disaster, and what computer programs we knew. They also gave us a scenario and asked how we'd handle it. After the questions, they told us more about the company and the roles. If they thought I was a fit, I'd get an Excel/Word test to see if I knew the basics (it wasn't timed). Then, there would be a one-on-one interview with the supervisor for the specific program I was applying for.
- What motivated your interest in this role?
- Could you share three of your key strengths?
- What feedback might a former supervisor offer regarding areas for your development?
Administrative Assistant
I applied for this job, and about a week later HR called asking me to call them back to discuss the position. When I called back, they asked me why I want to work there, and then some basic questions like if I have a valid driver's license, if I can legally work in the US without sponsorship, and if I'm over 21. A week after that, the hiring manager called me. We talked for about 30 minutes about the role, my interest, my background, and the details of the position. They mentioned they were doing more phone screens and planned to have in-person interviews the following week. A few days later, I got an email from the hiring manager asking if I could come in for an in-person interview the next day, but she had sent the email to the wrong address. Minutes after the email, she texted me to see if I got it and if I could come in the next day, or the following week. I chose the following week because I needed time to prepare for the one-hour interview and a one-hour "performance task" they scheduled. Two days before the interview, HR called to say the position was filled. They mentioned a different title, but assured me it was the same job.
- Why are you interested in employment with this company?
- Can you confirm you have a valid driver's license?
- Are you legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship?
