AI Product Manager Intern
So basically the interview process started with a resume screening, then a quick screening interview. After that, there was an assignment and then some more interviews. It was kinda challenging because they asked questions in both Korean and English, so I had to prep a lot for the English parts. Everything was done online.

Account Executive
The interview process for this AE role was disappointing and felt unprofessional. The initial interview was only scheduled for 30 minutes, which seemed short for a senior-level position. The call was conducted from a moving vehicle on the way to an airport, resulting in poor connection quality and multiple distractions. A large portion of the time was spent on a one-sided overview of the company, rather than on meaningful dialogue or evaluation of my experience. It appeared the interviewer was not familiar with my background prior to the call, as they seemed to be reviewing my profile in real time. The process came across as rushed and underprepared. It was mentioned that over 75 candidates had been interviewed for this same role without a single hire, raising questions about how efficiently and thoughtfully the process is being run. Limiting interviews to short calls while reviewing dozens of candidates suggests a churn-and-burn approach that doesn’t respect applicants’ time or effort. I’ve never encountered an interview conducted from a moving vehicle, and I believe professionalism should be mutual. A properly scheduled, prepared, and focused interview would have allowed for a more genuine, productive conversation and left a stronger impression of the company’s culture and values.
- The interviewer spent most of the 30-minute call discussing themselves and the company.
- The few questions asked were very general and did not meaningfully probe my experience or skills.
Cloud Security Engineer
I got selected to interview for a cloud security position. They asked me about the main cloud platforms, which I had prepared for and answered. But then they dinged me for 'not having enough experience' with two minor infrastructure platforms, even though I have over two years of experience with them. Since these platforms weren't emphasized during the interview, I didn't focus on them. What was worse is that I was interviewed by someone who had no experience in cloud security, and they decided I didn't have experience with these technologies. If they were looking for experience in these two specific platforms, they should have highlighted it from the first call or given me a chance to showcase my experience. This wasn't even on the list of topics they sent for preparation. It felt like a weird mind game meant to make me fail. I'll never know if it was racism or just gross incompetence.
- Can you justify your rejection?
- Can you explain why you should be hired?
- Tell me about your experience with these two minor infrastructure platforms.
Marketing Manager
The interview process was super responsive and smooth. My recruiter, DA, did a stellar job guiding me through each interview, providing preparation assistance, and was very timely in his follow-ups to explain where I was in the process and the next steps. He answered all my questions and was very friendly to talk to, even offering to reschedule when I wasn't feeling well and being very open and accommodating for my schedule. The interviews themselves were pleasant. I met with the hiring manager, then a team of people I'd be working with for a panel, then had a values interview and a case study. The entire process took about a month, and the recruiter was clear in communication and follow-up every step of the way. I was definitely impressed by the great interview experience and it influenced my decision to join Sendbird. I haven't looked back since.
