The interview was wild. First, only one guy showed up, and it wasn't the VP or senior VP I was expecting, but the assistant VP. He hit me with some standard questions, then gave me a written test on water treatment – stuff about water quality and membrane bioreactor design. My PhD brain had clearly wiped some of that info, so I didn't ace it. They gave me 30 minutes, but halfway through, two more people joined: the VP I was supposed to meet and an engineer I hadn't heard about. It was pretty intense with all the unexpected changes. After the test, the engineer asked about my leadership experience, the VP asked if I was local, and then it was over.

Behavioral

I had a face-to-face interview with HR and Engineering where they went over my resume in detail. After the interview, HR reached out to see if I was interested in a different role, which I declined. I followed up two weeks later about the original interview status and was asked to interview for the second position again. I never got a formal rejection.
