First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seismic.
Product Manager
The interview process involved multiple individual interviews that were quite lengthy, in addition to a couple of assignments. The HR department removed my job title from the offer letter to offer me less money, which I foolishly accepted. Seismic's failure to post salary ranges for job openings, as required by California law, indicates their questionable practices. The background check was also a hassle due to the third-party company requiring extensive effort from me.
- Regarding the sample of my work that was presented, was I satisfied with it?
Product Manager
I applied in mid-January 2023 and a recruiter from Seismic reached out in Feb. The whole thing took about 5 weeks from when they first contacted me. First there was a phone screen, then I met the hiring manager, and finally, I had separate interviews with three senior people from different areas: engineering, software architecture, and a Sr. Director of PM. They decided not to move forward with me because someone internal at Seismic applied and they thought that person was a better fit with more experience for the role.
- Can you tell me about your background and what you've done before?
- What was your experience like working with Product Managers?
- What is your level of technical knowledge?
Product Manager
The environment was relaxed and the team was respectful. There were several rounds focused on Product Management, situational, and skill-based questions. It was a great experience. Cyra from recruitment kept me informed throughout the entire process.
- Describe your process for using data to inform product development decisions, both for new features and improvements.
