It started with a quick 15-minute call with the Recruiter, just basic stuff asking about me and why I wanted to join SEI and specifically the Oranj platform (since the job was for their new startup Oranj in Chicago). Then I had a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager in Chicago. We chatted a bit about technical things orally, no actual coding, and they mostly asked about my background. The final part was meeting with the team leads, the product manager, and the managing director. The product manager wanted to know about my experience working with PMs and how I collaborate with them, plus some general behavioral questions. The managing director just wanted to discuss my previous experience and see if I'd fit well with the company culture. Everyone was really professional.

The interview process spanned two days. Day one involved four interviews, primarily focusing on behavioral questions, your motivation for joining the company, and your suitability for the role. They also inquired about your interests and hobbies, and briefly touched upon your cover letter, CV, and the essay you submitted previously. If you progressed, day two consisted of another four interviews with more senior staff, plus a 10-minute chat with the head of the UK office. These four interviews were more in-depth, covering your background, your understanding of the firm, your essay, and your reasons for choosing SEI. The 10-minute chat was an opportunity to highlight something unique about yourself, not necessarily work-related, that would make you memorable.

So I initially met the company at a career expo and then got called in for an on campus interview the very next day for this Wealth Platform Developer role. It was pretty standard, a mix of behavioral and technical questions. About a month later, they invited me to their Malvern office for a full day of interviews. I talked to four people there, two from the tech side and two from business. They mostly had me asking them questions, and at this point, there was only one technical question.
