The first interview was a quick in-person meeting with the hiring manager, who was pleasant. She then invited me to a second interview, which was at an "on-site" event to get a feel for the job. At this event, I met Lindsay, who was also nice but asked more challenging questions. This part felt more like a class than an interview. I was interviewed alongside another candidate, which was a bit unusual because she asked us both the same questions, giving an advantage to whoever answered second. The core of the job involves promoting products at retailers like Sam's Club, Walmart, or Costco. The company aims for rapid advancement, with possibilities of reaching manager status within 5-9 months, though the role primarily involves spending most days at a Sam's Club regardless of your position.

Behavioral Presentation

I went through interviews with 3 different companies for really similar roles, and honestly, they were all identical. It was super weird how much they stuck to specific talking points and even tried to be funny. The interviewers were really good at making you feel like you actually had a chance to advance in the company. But then I saw Glassdoor reviews and realized it was all pretty misleading. All the stuff they said about promotions and climbing the ladder? It wasn't really going to happen. I guess I should have seen it coming, they're in sales, so they definitely sold me on the idea!

I first applied on career builder and got a call back within 30 minutes to set up a phone interview. I spoke with an executive coordinator for about 15 minutes. Then I had a face-to-face interview with the same person, and it was crowded with other people interviewing too. After that, I went to Sam's Club to observe current executive coordinator trainees working. Then I had another interview at Sam's Club with a trainee who explained marketing, training, pay, and company trips. I was then asked to email answers to some questions about what she shared. The next day, someone else called with follow-up questions. At that point, I decided it wasn't the right fit and ended the call. Be aware that companies always hiring might have high turnover, which could mean low pay and high work expectations, especially for new grads.

So I had this meet and greet thing at a location, and then they wanted to do a second interview to see how things are actually run. But the second interview was like, on the complete opposite side of town. I checked out some reviews and decided it wasn't worth it to continue with the interview process. A friend of mine worked there for about a month and then quit because it wasn't what she expected.
