First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SeekOut.
Senior Software Engineer
Started with an intro call with the recruiter. Then a technical discussion with the Engineering Manager. After that, an interview with the Product Manager. Next up was a System Design + Coding round with the CTO. This was followed by another Coding round with a Senior Engineer, and then a final Coding round with another Senior Engineer. Everyone I spoke with was easy to talk to and the company culture seems good. The products are also interesting. However, after the interviews, I was ghosted for about two weeks. Then I got a generic email saying they weren't moving forward and that they could provide feedback if I wanted. So, I asked the recruiter to discuss the feedback since everyone seemed to like me in the interview and the rejection was unexpected. I followed up multiple times with the recruiter to get feedback, but it was really unprofessional to ghost a candidate after they spent hours in the interview process. It's only right to give some feedback.
- How would you implement the `indexOf` method in JavaScript?
- Write a JavaScript function to match objects between two arrays based on specific properties.
- Create a React application that includes a simple, sortable table.
Software Engineer
This company's interview process felt overly complicated for a role that offered lower pay for the region. It was significantly slower than with other companies of similar size. The process involved three behavioral interviews, one of which used their AI platform. I saw this AI interview as a red flag, suggesting their own platform isn't robust enough for early-stage screening. The discussions I had diminished my confidence in the company; the role's long-term viability seemed questionable, the product didn't appear strong, and general remarks about the company's condition weren't positive.
- Would you be open to working in the office a few days each week?
Software Engineer
I had 26 interviews overall, but SeekOut's process stood out as the best. It was really smooth, and the recruiter was super passionate and responsive. The interview structure was pretty standard: one phone interview followed by four rounds of virtual onsite interviews. I talked with two engineers, the VP of Engineering, and an HR manager. Everyone I spoke with was great – very nice and professional, making me want to join the team. My impression is that they genuinely care about and value their people.
- Were there any common coding questions?
- Were there any behavioral questions asked?
