I spoke with the manager about the position and they asked me questions about how I would handle certain situations, like difficult customers, and how to sell something using the 5 steps of customer service. They also mentioned the need for open availability during the holidays, from late November or early December to early January, as this is a busy period.

I applied in the store by filling out an application there. I didn't have my resume with me at the time. I got a call for an interview soon after. I went back with my resume and talked to the manager. She gave me a tour of the store. We talked about my resume and she asked some basic behavioral questions, like how I'd handle certain situations. She also had me try to sell her a box of chocolates. The interview was about 15 minutes. A few days later, I got a call for a second interview with the district manager. She demonstrated how to cup and wrap candy and had me do it. It was pretty simple. She asked more basic questions. Then I got the job offer.

I applied online and heard back a few days later. The recruiter called and asked if I could interview on Monday, but I had school. I said I could do Tuesday, and she said she'd call me back. She called back about 30 minutes later asking if I could come in that same day. I told her I was in school but could make it by 5:30 PM. She said she'd call back again. On the third call, I could tell the manager was complaining in the background, saying he wouldn't be there at 5:30. That was unprofessional of him. The recruiter was nice and tried to explain I was a full-time student. She said she'd call back to see if another day worked, but I never heard from her. I really wanted the job, but they need to be more flexible with people's schedules.
