First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at See's Candies.
Sales Associate
I spoke with the manager about the position and they asked me questions about how I would handle certain situations, like difficult customers, and how to sell something using the 5 steps of customer service. They also mentioned the need for open availability during the holidays, from late November or early December to early January, as this is a busy period.
- How would you sell this item to me?
Sales Manager
I spoke with a senior recruiter over a video call. I felt good about how it went and got a lot of info about the field setup, who I'd report to, the office, and basic performance goals. She mentioned the director of stores would make the final call on who moves on. I sent a thank you email a few days later but didn't hear back. Then, the next week, I got a short, automated rejection. I didn't make it to the next stage.
- As a regional manager, what would be your top priorities?
- Describe your leadership style.
- What potential challenges do you foresee in this role?
Marketing Associate
It was a long process with 4 rounds of interviews and similar questions asked throughout. Unfortunately, I didn't make it past the 4th round. To prepare, you should look up common marketing questions online or on TikTok (it's a great resource!), and learn about the company. They will ask you what you know about Sees and its products. Make sure to expand on your personal summary and be confident when you answer.
- Can you explain how the responsibilities mentioned in the job description match your past experience?
Marketing Copywriter
The hiring process was pretty standard. First, I got an email from the recruiter with some time slots for a call, and we had a 30-minute chat. I sent some of my work samples in my follow-up email. The next day, the recruiter offered me another interview. Then I had a 45-minute Zoom meeting with the Creative Director. After that, the recruiter asked me to create an 'Inspiration Board' with seasonal copy and visuals for a Mother's Day campaign. I didn't hear back for about four days, so I sent a follow-up. A few days later, I got a call saying they decided to go in a different direction. It was a bummer, but they were very polite, and the overall experience was creative and fun.
- Tell me about your resume and what interests you.
- We understand you're starting graduate school. How would you manage to juggle that with a full-time job here?
- What's your favorite See's candy?
