The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Next, there was a panel interview, and the final round was with an executive. They were quite prompt in reaching out. The initial recruiter and hiring manager interviews were positive, with the interviewers being pleasant and providing a good overview of the role. However, the panel interview was a challenging experience. Be cautious about appearing too poised, as they might perceive it negatively, leading to condescending questions about your expertise and capabilities. If your knowledge or preparation surpasses theirs, they may view it as a threat. If this reflects the company's culture, characterized by undermining or exclusionary behavior, it might not be the right fit for you.

The interview process includes several steps: a phone call, online logic and psychometric tests, an interview with the local branch manager and director, and finally an interview with the Swedish CEO. It might seem long, but it's mainly about finding a good human fit. The goal is to understand your personality, soft skills, and cultural alignment beyond just your resume. Sectra is not very hierarchical and is very people-focused, seeking curious and motivated individuals. Technical skills are typically learned through internal training, making the process more inclusive. For French candidates, the final CEO interview may include surprising or personal questions. This is meant to understand your values and how you operate, not to judge you. Be honest and calm, as the intention is good: to build a personal connection and a strong team culture. In short, Sectra's interview process reflects its values: curiosity, people, and fitting into a dynamic, collaborative team.

Behavioral Presentation

This was a thorough interview process. I had phone screens with 3 different people before being set up for two in-person interviews. After the in-person interviews, I was scheduled for a virtual presentation to the team. Following that, I was set to meet with the CEO. Within a week of my conversation with the CEO, I got a job offer. Throughout the process, they are very up front about the fact that no one is hired without full consensus from everyone you meet, including the CEO. This is an effort to maintain the culture of the organization.
