Creative Intern
I had an interview with the Marketing team. It was supposed to be a group interview, but because of scheduling issues, it ended up being two separate one-on-one interviews with the Marketing Lead and the Creative Director. Both of them were more interested in how I approach design than in my technical skills.
- Can you explain why the sky appears blue?
Electrical Engineer
I had three interviews. The first was with HR, starting with basic questions like 'why this company,' 'hardest engineering challenge,' and 'tell me about yourself.' In the last 20-30 minutes, she asked some fundamental EE questions, for example, how to design a flashlight and the differences between SPI and I2C. Next, I had a technical interview that focused more on my resume and signal processing. The final technical interview was quite relaxed, mainly discussing my interests and further resume questions. Unfortunately, they couldn't proceed with the fall internship due to internal company matters, and my friend received the same rejection email around the same time.
- Can you explain SPI vs I2C and provide use cases for each?
Software Engineer Intern
So I had three interviews in total. The first one was with HR, kinda like a general intro. Then I talked to an engineer for a technical interview, and finally, the engineering manager for another technical interview. The first interview was a mix of behavioral stuff and technical questions, but the other two were purely technical. They asked questions based on my resume and also some random technical ones. The technical questions were medium difficulty, and they were nice enough to adjust them if I got stuck.
- Thinking about a project on your resume, what would you do differently if you had to do it again?
Embedded Firmware Engineer
The interview process included a phone screen, a take-home assignment, and then a 1-hour call with the hiring manager. I wasn't happy with how it ended though, because even though I made it to the later stages, they said I didn't have enough experience with the kind of projects they needed. I don't mind the feedback, but they should've figured that out earlier to save time.
- Can you explain what a template class is?
- What is polymorphism?
- Could you describe the Model View Controller pattern?
