The interview was pretty chill, mostly just asking general questions about your past work. They wanted to know if I'd ever worked at any of their restaurant brands before. They're pretty serious about applications if you don't have restaurant experience. Good news though, they're cool with students working during the summer and then coming back in the winter.

The interview had a bad vibe, I felt like they weren't considering me the whole time but they still talked and asked questions. Two managers were rude and didn't seem to care about my answers, acting skeptical. I have lots of restaurant experience and usually have good interviews. The second manager said they'd check with the other manager and get back to me. I'm going to withdraw my application politely because I wouldn't want to work for judgmental and unfriendly management.

The interview process was pretty long, with four interviews with different senior managers over a month. Most of the interviews were good, and I learned a lot about the Seasons 52 brand. I thought about whether to post my experience, but after talking to other candidates on LinkedIn, I decided to. My main issue is with Seasons 52's core belief in "courage." I don't think they lived up to it because if you interview someone four times and decide they aren't a good fit, you should have the courage to call them or send a personalized email instead of a generic one. This is especially true when you tell someone they weren't chosen but the job ad is back up within 24 hours. I'm fine with not getting the job if it wasn't the right fit, as finding the right people in this industry is key. However, this experience felt like an embarrassment to Darden, Seasons 52, and the hospitality industry. It's simple to add a personal touch to communication. If you want applicants to believe in your core values, you should do the same. People in the industry are talking about this, and it will eventually catch up to you.

I put in my application online and then someone emailed me to call the restaurant nearest me to set up an interview. I went in and after waiting about 3 minutes, the operations manager interviewed me. That lasted about 10-15 minutes and then she told me I would interview with the general manager. After that interview (another 15 minutes), I was asked to wait a few minutes for my final interview with the host manager.
