Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

It started with a recruiter phone screen, which went great, and then another with the Sales Manager, which also went really well. I was looking forward to the next step, where I'd meet with two sales managers for a more in-depth look at my resume and to do a mock sales call about my hobby or weekend plans. During the discussion about my past employment, they seemed condescending about why I left my job from 2015-2021 after six years, given my current job started in 2020. They were messaging each other the whole time, smiling and chuckling, which I found unprofessional. It's not cool to be condescending about why someone has two jobs; you don't know people's financial situations. I thought the mock call went okay, but they kept asking me to repeat myself because they were busy messaging each other. At the end of the mock call, they admitted they were giving each other feedback via messages and told me on the spot that they weren't moving forward with my application. Honestly, I feel like I dodged a bullet with this company based on how those managers were paying more attention to each other than to me during the interview.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied through the careers page and got an interview request within 10 minutes. The first interview was with an AE Manager who was positive and shared company information genuinely. They scheduled the next round on the same call. The next round was a role-playing interview with two AE Managers. I had one day to prepare to sell them on a hobby or weekend plan, and they wanted it to be fun. I picked a fun topic and used sales techniques, including a value proposition. However, the interviewers expected a more methodical sales call approach, like setting an agenda and probing more. This setup was confusing. I asked for feedback and if they had any reservations. One manager was new and agreed with the other. They said they had no reservations and that I would hear from the Sales Director by end of day to set up the next interview. I sent thank you and follow-up emails to both managers from the second round, but later received an automated email saying I was no longer being considered. It was a neutral experience overall, but they should be more transparent with feedback to respect candidates' time and effort.
