Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sealed Air Corporation.
Senior IT Analyst
The hiring process started well with a structured and professional first stage. However, the second (in-person) stage was disappointing. The interviewer asked trivial questions and didn't give me proper attention. During the interview, they were distracted, using their phone and getting up, which gave the impression of disinterest in the process. After a week of waiting, I was told they chose another candidate, which is part of the process. Still, the way it all happened suggested the decision was already made before my in-person interview. This gives the impression the process was just to tick a box, without real interest in fairly evaluating candidates. A frustrating experience that raises doubts about the company's transparency in selecting professionals.
- What is the importance of TCP/IP?
- What is your knowledge of English and Spanish?
- If a colleague of yours did something wrong in a customer service interaction, what would be your approach?
Business Analyst
It was a pretty standard behavioral interview. They first asked me to walk through my resume and key experiences. Then, they asked questions related to their core competencies: Ownership, Customer Obsessed, Agility, and Never Satisfied. It was a bit intimidating with two interviewers, one a director and the other slightly below them. They seemed tired, maybe because they had been interviewing all day and weren't super engaged. If you can, try to get an early interview slot. Also, make sure to arrive early.
- Since ownership is one of our core competencies, could you share an instance where you took ownership of a goal and what the outcome was?
IT Analyst
I went through two interviews, and it was really straightforward. They want to get to know you, so just be yourself and be on time. These folks are busy, so make sure you know your stuff. Prepare well and try to relax. Be honest; they probably know more than you do.
- Tell me about yourself, and be on time.
