First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seaboard Foods.
Management Trainee
I applied for the Management Trainee role, specifically the IE position which is like a BA role. First, I had a phone screen with HR. Then, I had a Skype interview with HR and an industrial engineer where they asked basic questions about software/technology and behavioral questions. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview with about 20-25 other candidates interviewing for different specialities like sales and marketing. For the IE/BA roles, there were about 5 or 6 of us interviewing with the same two interviewers. It was a round robin format, with ~30 minute interviews with each interviewer before rotating. They asked basic questions about my background, and it seemed like they hadn't reviewed my resume. We had lunch afterward. The interviewers were nice and handled the travel logistics well for those of us who flew in. The HR person said we'd hear back the following week. Surprisingly, she called before Thanksgiving, but I didn't get an offer. A few hours later, I got an offer from a bigger, more well-known food company.

Management Trainee
Applied for this management trainee role. Got a preliminary phone interview with two recruiters. Despite having an internship, two prior management positions, and a BS in Business Admin, one recruiter stated I lacked the specific management experience they sought. They then offered me a line worker position in their pork processing plant, which I found insulting. I'd recommend Seaboard Foods just state they are going in a different direction with candidates they aren't interested in, as offering line worker jobs to college grads is appalling.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
Manager
Got contacted right after applying to schedule a phone interview. It was about 30 minutes and the recruiter asked about my interest in the job and company. A few days later, I had an office interview with more technical questions about my skills. Everyone was nice and answered my questions.
- Where do you see your career heading in the future?
