Software Engineer
The assessment will include a video interview and some games. The video interview will involve answering competency-based questions that assess Communication, Relationship Building, Adaptability, Dependability, Drive for Results and Initiative, Willingness to Learn, and Problem Solving.
- Tell me about a workplace conflict and how you resolved it.
- How do you manage your response when you are under pressure?
- Have you faced a situation where you couldn't solve a problem? What did you do?
Graduate Developer
The interview process was pretty bad. It involved recording yourself answering questions on video. It felt like they weren't that interested in the graduate program if they didn't have someone actually interview candidates. Not sure if this is still how they do it, as my interview was about a year ago.
- Can you tell me about a time you worked as part of a team?
Programmer
Applied on-line. After submitting my application I was asked to take a Situational Judgement Test, which I found fairly easy. After passing that I was invited to take numeracy and logical tests - they were standard SHL ones. The next step was telephone interview, during which I was asked about my strengths and why I want to work for Scottish Power, as well as two competency-based questions. The interview took place in December and I was told I would get a response within 5 working days, but I am still waiting for the outcome.
- Can you share an instance where you were instrumental in a team setting?
- Describe a situation where you adapted your approach based on feedback or new information.
