First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SCOR.
Actuary Intern
The interview process consisted of behavioral questions. For instance, they asked about my biggest weakness, a time I disagreed with a colleague and how I handled it, and how I cope with having multiple tasks.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
- Describe a situation where you had a disagreement with a coworker and explain how you resolved it.
- How do you manage when you have multiple tasks to handle at once?
Actuarial
It was a pretty easy interview, more like a chat. The interviewer spent the first 15 minutes explaining the reinsurance industry, which was helpful. They asked mostly standard questions, but there was a surprise statistical question that caught me off guard. However, the interviewer was nice and helped me work through it. The interview went a bit longer than usual (over an hour), but I felt really engaged the whole time.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What does your ideal career path look like?
- Could you tackle this statistical question?
Actuarial
I applied through my school's statistics department and was contacted by HR for a 30-minute chat. After that, I was scheduled to interview with some full-time actuaries. I had two phone interviews with actuaries, and all of these interviews were conducted over the phone.
- Could you describe what you understand actuaries to do?
