Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SciTec.
Software Engineer
I had a phone interview and then received a coding assignment with a one-week deadline. I spent a few days on the coding test. After submitting it, they responded saying they didn't have a matching position. Honestly, this company doesn't seem to respect your time, and who knows what it would be like to work there. I'd say avoid them.

Software Engineer
I was given a coding project in C++ that involved data transformation. It was meant to be a couple of hours, but I spent a lot more time refining it. Then, I had a main interview with four employees from different departments. They asked some very basic C++ questions and then reviewed my code. I felt they could have gotten the same info with direct C++ questions, saving me the coding project.
- Can you explain how constructors and deconstructors are called when objects of a parent and derived class are instantiated?
Software Engineer
The process started with an intro call, then a meeting with a senior engineer, followed by a take-home assessment. Finally, there was a technical interview. The people were really kind and it was a fun interview. The technical assessment wasn't hard, but the technical interview will get into the depths of C++.
- Can you share an instance when you resolved a challenging issue?
