I had a short phone screen with a recruiter and then a single on-site interview by some of the technical staff. By the attitudes of people I met, I got the distinct impression they were hemorrhaging talent and desperate to just fill the role as opposed to develop a good long-term employee. This was confirmed when I received a verbal offer the next day and told I had 3 days to respond once the written offer arrived. I said I would need at least a week to consider but the recruiter just asked what salary number he needed to get for me to accept in the timeframe. Needless to say, I heeded the red flags. Two friends and former colleagues of mine went to work here; one left and the other is trying to leave. They work on cool technologies, but it seems like a disorganized work environment with a ton of nepotism in management.

I had a few phone interviews, then drove a long way for an in-person interview, which the company paid for, including a hotel. It was over four hours long. I thought it went well, despite some awkwardness with a secure area bathroom. The manager said I'd hear back in a day or two. After I got home, I waited a couple days with no word. I emailed HR and called multiple times with no response. It was really unprofessional not to get any feedback, especially after all the effort. I don't know what I did wrong. I felt I interviewed well and have a good track record. It was a waste of my time not to get an answer.

First, a recruiter call to screen candidates. Then, a technical panel interview via Zoom with the hiring manager and technical leads. It was a quick hiring process overall. The technical panel involved various programming-related questions.
