The interview was pretty easy, with 3 rounds plus an HR round. Round 1 was virtual and covered API HTTP requests, status codes, parameters, payload, variables, some manual testing stuff, Selenium exceptions, SQL queries, Java OOP concepts, Agile process, and explaining my project. Round 2 was face-to-face and included an introduction, project explanation, API questions (like the ones mentioned), challenges faced, learning process, and understanding about the company. The HR round involved salary discussion, introductions, family details, and other activities.

the interview itself was okay, a video call with two interviewers. but i didn't like or trust the company because of the mandatory personal disclosures on the application, which had to be filled out even though they claimed it was optional. the form said 'Completion of the form is entirely voluntary. Whatever your decision, it will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be recorded and maintained in a confidential file.' but then there were two dropdowns marked with an asterisk, indicating they were mandatory, contradicting the 'voluntary disclosures' statement. applicants were forced to 'voluntarily' select their gender and whether they identified as hispanic or latino. the issue isn't the disclosure itself, but that Scientific Games was lying and likely breaking the law, though i suppose big companies can get away with anything.

The whole thing took about 3 weeks. First was a manager interview, where they asked me to talk about myself and asked questions about my resume. Then, there was a 2-hour panel interview with 2 QA managers and 2 QA leads. They asked about my resume, my experience, software testing principles, and how to handle and report bugs, plus some behavioral questions. Finally, HR contacted me and I got an offer.

  • Describe how you would write a test case.
