First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Science 37.
Clinical Research Coordinator
I applied on line and got an email for a phone interview. I did two phone interviews, and then they invited me for an in-person interview. They were professional before that, asking for my availability and using an online scheduler, and they responded to emails quickly. However, at the in-person interview, it felt like they had already hired someone. The two interviewers seemed uninterested. One interviewer repeatedly commented on how boring the questions were and questioned why he had to ask them. He then finished the interview abruptly, and the second interviewer also ended it quickly. They asked repetitive questions that I had already answered on the phone and during the in-person interview. It was very disorganized. I felt it was a fake interview and they had already chosen someone. They didn't even listen to me. Two days later, I received an email saying I didn't get the job.
- Can you define the Clinical Research Coordinator role?
- Are there any policies in your current position that you know of?
- What do you know about science 37 culture?
Mulesoft Developer
First I was contacted by a staffing company about the role. Then I had calls with a technical recruiter and a senior developer for screening. After that, I had an exercise round where I needed to implement an API with two endpoints for a social media backend. I got good advice on best practices from the vendor and followed them. I finished the coding exercise, but they rejected me saying I used two different approaches for the two endpoints and wasn't qualified. I spent a lot of time understanding the backend APIs and built working code with best practices, but they didn't even ask why I chose those approaches. This whole experience makes me feel the environment is toxic and they don't value different opinions. Seriously, don't waste your time and energy on this.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- Do you have any technical questions about the platform?
Product Manager
I had several phone interviews, starting with a screening, then one with product, and then one with engineering/product. After that, I had an onsite interview with many different team members. I did some research on Science 37 before my final interview and found out about their significant funding round and the subsequent ousting and lawsuit involving the cofounders. I considered canceling my onsite but decided to go through with it to gauge the company culture. During the interviews, only one person honestly admitted missing the founders; others gave a standard response about necessary growth. I received a generic rejection email a few days later.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage competing priorities?
Employee Experience Manager
I went through three rounds of interviews with different leaders at Science 37. The first one was with the hiring manager, and it was like an informational chat to get to know each other and talk about my background. It was also my chance to learn about the role and the company. The second interview was with the hiring manager again, along with other leaders from the department. This one focused on situation-based questions, and I got to ask more about the position. The third interview was a final discussion about the opportunity, and that's when they offered me the job.
- Describe a situation where you had to work with a project team member who had a different opinion from yours, and how you both reached an agreement on how to move forward.
