First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Schwan's Company.
Sales Leader
I first got a call from a Sr. Recruiter, which lasted about 45 minutes. Then there was another phone interview. After that, I had a face-to-face interview with an HR manager at a Regional office, and then another face-to-face with the Regional VP for that area. It was a really good experience, and I liked that they focused on leadership qualities rather than just management skills. Even though I didn't get the job, the process was super pleasant and even inspired me to become a customer.

Sales Representative
The interview process involved an extended interview with three individuals, followed by a ride-along. It's important to note that completing the ride-along doesn't guarantee a job offer, as that decision is made beforehand. If you aren't hired, this process can feel like a two-week waste. They also suggest downplaying your resume because they mention upfront that the pay isn't great. Additionally, you'll need to follow up on your own regarding your application status, as they won't provide updates on where you are in the hiring process. The high turnover rate at the company is likely due to their very poor hiring processes.

Sales Representative
First you will have a phone interview with a recruiter followed by a face to face interview with the area manager for where you are applying. If these go well, you will be offered to take a ride a long day. It is one full day on the job (unpaid) shadowing a current RSR to give you a true feel for the job. Greet customers and run for the RSR and you'll be fine. If you are still interested after your ride along, you will have a follow up call with the recruiter and/or area manager to answer any questions you may have. Your final interview will be a Skype interview with the regional manager. After this interview concludes, the two mangers, recruiter, and RSR you shadowed will come together to make a decision. If hired you will then be sent for your drug screen and DOT physical while a third party does your background check. Whole process takes about 2 weeks. Alot of the time is spent waiting for phone calls.
