& Process

The interview process had 5 rounds. It included HR Screening, then a meeting with the Hiring Manager, followed by the Plant Manager, and finally an On site Interview with the production, plant, and engineering managers. It wasn't a super tough process, but it was quite lengthy. In some of the early interviews, the hiring manager was late.

I went through four video interviews that were poorly scheduled. They invited me on-site after the third interview, but it seems they had already decided not to offer me the job after the fourth interview, yet they still kept the on-site schedule. This was a waste of my time traveling and interviewing for a role I was no longer being considered for. I only found this out after an external recruiter asked why I wasn't offered the job post on-site. The initial feedback didn't make sense and referred to job changes mentioned on my resume and discussed during the video interviews. In a two-week span, I had three other interviews to travel for, and I would have preferred not to use two days of my PTO on this. I found the whole process to be handled very unprofessionally.

The interview process kicked off with a phone screening, followed by a Skype interview approximately two weeks later. Another two weeks passed, and then they flew me to Marshall on their company plane, which was a pretty cool experience. The in-person part started with a realtor meeting me at the airport and giving me a tour of Marshall over coffee for about an hour. Afterward, she dropped me off at the office, which was really clean and welcoming. I met the packaging team through hour-long one-on-one meetings, and other team members I wasn't interviewing with took me out for a great Italian lunch. I felt really comfortable with the team; they were super friendly! The interviews were mainly based on my resume and some behavioral questions, which weren't too tough since I could just be myself. It was a really enjoyable time, and they made me want to work there! Marshall is quite small and quiet, though, which is more my speed for later in life, not my early 20s. I'd definitely consider their offer if it comes up again in the future.
