Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Schonfeld.
Intern
I had two interviews. The first was a quick, basic intro call. The second was a longer session where they asked fair technical questions and seemed really interested in my accomplishments and knowledge.
- Can you elaborate on your personal projects?
- What are the technical details of your personal projects?
- Could you explain the methodology and choices behind your personal projects?
Intern
The interview process had 5 rounds involving HR, the hiring manager, and the team. There was a big emphasis on understanding my reasons for pursuing finance. Some interviewers didn't leave much time for questions. Everyone was pretty nice.
- What are your motivations for choosing a career in finance?
Intern
Worst recruitment process ever. Applied for an internship, got to round two three weeks later, submitted availability, and then got ghosted. Followed up, was told hiring manager was promoted and I'd hear back 'shortly.' Three months later, HR said they changed the internship title by one word and asked if I was still interested in an interview. Never heard back. After four months total, got rejected, citing the title change. Already got a better offer and found it laughable they thought I'd still be interested after a four-month process. Totally disrespectful and a waste of time. Avoid this company.
