I learned about this internship opportunity because Schonfeld held an info session for my program. I had seen they were hiring a quant summer analyst earlier, so I reached out to my program director to see if I could connect with the hiring manager about this role. Because of the referral, I got an interview. The interview was just one round and it was with the head of risk. Some of my friends from other quant finance programs also got interviews, but they ended up not hiring any of us.

Coding Behavioral

I first met with a group lead. Then, I had a coding interview that involved using data similar to what they use daily, employing Python, specifically pandas. It wasn't too challenging. Afterward, I met with two more team members. I was supposed to have a meeting with the recruiter right after, but they had to reschedule. The recruiter kept pushing this interview back, week after week, giving reasons that I felt were just excuses to find other candidates. I was always the one following up for updates, even though my experiences at each interview stage were pretty positive. Honestly, the lack of updates and the constant delays felt really unprofessional.

Coding Technical System Design

The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by a coding interview that was like a medium leetcode problem. I had to push for an update and then had an hour-long interview with the hiring manager, who asked a lot of questions about my past jobs, resume, and general software engineering knowledge. After another follow-up, I was notified I could move to an onsite interview. This involved five back-to-back interviews with no breaks, covering coding, system design, design patterns, and code reviews. While the onsite itself was positive, the company ghosted me afterward, which was disappointing and felt disrespectful, raising concerns about their culture.

Behavioral Technical Coding

Worst recruitment process ever. Applied for an internship, got to round two three weeks later, submitted availability, and then got ghosted. Followed up, was told hiring manager was promoted and I'd hear back 'shortly.' Three months later, HR said they changed the internship title by one word and asked if I was still interested in an interview. Never heard back. After four months total, got rejected, citing the title change. Already got a better offer and found it laughable they thought I'd still be interested after a four-month process. Totally disrespectful and a waste of time. Avoid this company.
