I applied online and got a text about the interview details. The interview was pretty chill, the manager just wanted to chat and get to know me. We talked about my past jobs and hobbies. I didn't get the job though, because apparently hiring family is against the rules since my brother already works there.
- Can you tell me about your previous job experience and if you're still employed there?

I had my first interview with the Store Manager and it seemed to go well; they acted like they wanted to hire me. But then they said I had to have a second interview with the Asst Manager. She seemed nice at first, but when I brought up my old home business, she seemed a little put off, maybe because I used business terms she didn't get. Then she changed her tune and said they weren't hiring for another month or so. (Which made me wonder why I was even there!) She also mentioned at the end that this was my first interview, when it was actually my second. I called the store manager back, and he said the Asst Manager was confused and didn't realize it was my second interview because she had just returned from vacation. He told me to call back Monday because they'd have a decision then, as the Asst Manager was sick. I called on Monday, and they said they didn't need anyone right now and would contact me when they needed employees.
- Have you worked in food service before?
- Do you possess a food handling permit?

I applied for this job on July 22nd and was able to get an interview scheduled for the 24th. There was only one interview with one of the two managers (they are married). We discussed my work history and what I knew, plus if I was up for some tasks that weren't great (like cleaning toilets). We also chatted about my schooling and how I might work while in college. I thought the interview was pretty easy and I'd suggest maintaining eye contact the whole time. If eye contact is tough for you, you might not get the job since it was used the whole time. Talk clearly and don't be anxious; the managers are easy to talk to!
- None of the questions were very hard or unexpected.
