First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SCG.
Project Engineer
So first there's like a screening call, then a few interviews to see if you're good technically and a good fit. Sometimes they give you a case study or a tech test, or you might have to do a presentation. It wraps up with a chat about what the job entails and what's next.
- Can you tell me about a tough project you managed and how you tackled any problems?
- What are your main strengths, and how would they benefit our team?
- Explain your approach to managing tight deadlines and handling several tasks at once.
Data Scientist
First, they screened my application and resume. Then, there was an initial HR/recruiter call. After that, a technical screening covered Python/R, SQL, and data manipulation libraries like pandas and NumPy. The final round was a panel interview with stakeholders, including both technical and behavioral questions.
- Can you tell me about a project you've worked on previously?
Accountant
Submitted an application via the company's career website. Following this, I had a phone call with HR. Then, I got notified about the interview date. After that, I completed an online test assessing character and attitude. Finally, I had an onsite interview.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- What valuable experience did you gain from your part-time job?
- What difficulties did you encounter during your part-time job?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview started at the headquarter. They first asked about my background, then about my grad project and technical terms. For me, it was about energy equations, not too hard, but you should prepare yourself about their business because it will be related to the questions they will ask you, like how a boiler works or how to reduce losses in a boiler.
- Could you explain how boilers operate?
- What are the methods for reducing losses in a boiler?
- Can you differentiate between biofuel and conventional fuel?
