The recruitment process starts with an online application, followed by web-based logical and personality tests. Then there's an initial HR interview, leading to a final assessment day with hiring managers. Tests and interviews are pretty standard. I went through the whole process until the final round, only to realize the entire recruitment was a sham. On the assessment day, there were 6 candidates for 3 positions. Turns out, 3 of us were already doing part-time work at Scania and had contracts lined up for when the program starts. Unsurprisingly, they got the jobs, and the rest of us who were new to Scania wasted our time. It seems like they just wanted to make it look like a competitive hiring process when they really weren't hiring competitively. I'd advise against wasting your time applying for the Graduate Trainee Program at Scania unless you already have a connection there. The whole thing feels like a charade.

Behavioral Technical

So after doing the personality and matrigma tests, I got called for an interview. It was a one-on-one thing, lasted about an hour. They were super friendly and the chat was really chill. The only bummer was waiting two weeks for the official response. Then, for the next stage, they needed me to do a drug test and a health check.

Technical Coding Case Presentation Behavioral Group

It was a 3 step process, application followed by competency tests in quantitative data analysis and logical reasoning along with some basic verbal reasoning. After clearing this, I flew down to Sodertalje for the 1st round with the HR. It was a good experience this time and I was shortlisted for the next round. So we were 6 people vying for 3 trainee positions. We had case interviews first followed by another 2 hour long individual interviews. Eventually, the 3 positions were offered to people who were already doing their thesis with them. In retrospect, I feel the whole process of recruitment was botched up and pre decided. I remember the case interviews were good and we made a good presentation but technicality mattered somehow less for them and compatibility of the individual more, a person in my team despite being not at all technical and presenting HR like solutions was selected due to an ongoing thesis with them. I would be a little harsh to suggest that international students who have no thesis/internship with Scania, do not waste time and efforts applying for their graduate trainee program. Although the HR department seems good, the managers seem to look for homogeneity of individuals, whose technicality does not matter.
