Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Scania.
Engineering Intern
It was a group dynamic with a case study. Then there were interviews with kind managers. The process was slow, but well-defined. There were many panels, so it's very competitive. Everything was online, which makes it much easier, especially for internships, as you don't need to travel to São Bernardo.
- Can you share a bad experience you had working in a group and how you dealt with it?
Engineering Intern
The first step is with the Companhia de Estágio team, where Scania posts internships. It's a group personal introduction where you talk about your technical and personal skills (hobbies, talents), and any work experience. The second step is an interview with just you and the hiring manager. They ask you to talk about yourself beyond your resume. After the interview, the manager explains the area, gives more info, and asks if you have questions.
- Tell us about yourself, beyond what's on your resume.
- Share your timeline up to this point that isn't on your resume.
- What are your technical skills?
Engineering Intern
The process started with a presentation of an engineering project I had participated in, alongside other candidates and the interviewers. Immediately after, I had a brief interview with three interviewers focusing entirely on behavioral aspects.
- Tell me about a time you resolved a conflict situation.
