The HR lead seemed a bit skeptical, which was off-putting. It gave me the impression they're not particularly invested either way and think their company is too good for most applicants.

I first chatted with the recruiter on the phone. Then, I had an in-person interview at the plant with the hiring manager and the director. They also gave me a tour of the plant. About a week after that, they extended an offer.

I found this job on a job board and applied. The HR Director called me to chat about the job, pay, and where it was located. She called back a couple days later to set up an interview date at Frankfort with a Brand Manager and herself. We met at a conference table and they asked questions for over an hour. They said they'd be in touch. The next weekend, HR called my home office, but we were out of town. She called again Sunday night, but my phone didn't get the message until Monday. I called her back, and she wanted me to come to Frankfort again on Monday, but since I couldn't, she asked if I could come on Tuesday, and I said yes. I went to Frankfort again and met with two more people, one from Marketing and one from Production. Then I took an online personality test. HR called again to see if I could meet a VP in Louisville on Wednesday, and I said yes. This interview was different with unusual questions. For instance, how many gas stations are in Kentucky? How many bottles of bourbon are sold in Kentucky annually? Most notably, they asked me to recall my high school days and name a song that best represented me. It felt like they were trying to guess my age. Also, my resume has over 20 years of experience, and this person asked me to start from the very beginning so they could get a better sense of who I am. The people there are good, hardworking folks, mostly from the local area. The brand manager used to play college football, which is common here. The work environment is tough but fair. The pay was moderate considering the expectations.
