First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Savers.
Sales Associate
It was really easy, but way more personal than I thought it would be. They asked vague stuff like 'tell me about a time you had a hard time' and 'tell me about a time you were stressed'. It felt more like they were checking out my personality than asking job-related questions.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you felt overwhelmed and how you managed it?
Sales Associate
It was my first job, and there were only 2 interview rounds, which was nice. The first interview was in the store itself, which allowed me to observe the staff's interactions, and it seemed really welcoming for customers. The questions were related to my interests, hobbies, what I could bring to the company, and how I would handle various scenarios.
- Tell me about your interests and hobbies.
- What makes you a valuable addition to our team?
- How would you handle different types of situations?
Sales Associate
I tried to apply in person, but a sales associate gave me the run around and said they weren't hiring. I went home and saw an online listing for the job at that location, so I applied. A week later, I hadn't heard anything. I called the store to check on my application status and got scheduled for an interview. I aced the interview and got offered the job about a week after that.
- Can you describe a time you solved a customer's problem and how you might have handled it differently?
