Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SAVENCIA.
Senior Brand Manager
First contact with HR and in-person interviews with my direct manager and their manager in 2 separate meetings. A month and a half after the in-person interviews, no feedback from them, despite my calls and follow-up email. In a word, I'd describe this experience as: disappointing. There's no valid reason not to keep candidates informed or give them feedback. I want to add that I had already worked for this group several years ago, in one of their subsidiaries abroad. Until now, I advised everyone to go through this company that I valued highly...
- Can you tell me more about your background?
- Walk me through some of your past projects/missions.
- What do you see as the future challenges for the brand, and how does that align with your market understanding?
Brand Manager
First, a 30-minute phone call with HR to understand your background, what you grasped about the role, and to go over company perks. Next, an in-person meeting with the marketing team's manager. Finally, an interview with the marketing director.
- What was your understanding of the job?
Associate Brand Manager
So, I was contacted by a recruiter for this Associate Brand Manager position. The whole thing took about 2.5 months, which felt pretty disorganized. I did get an offer, but then they took it back before I even started. The whole marketing team seemed really new, and the office was kinda empty, which made me wonder. From what I gathered during the interviews, and later confirmed by reviews, the entire marketing department had quit around the same time because they couldn't deal with the CEO's way of doing things. I decided to keep going with it anyway. It started with an in-person chat with the Senior Brand Manager and the VP of Marketing. Then, a second in-person interview with another Senior Brand Manager. After that, I had a Skype interview with an R&D manager, which was supposed to be the last one. But nope, they decided I needed another in-person meeting with the VP of Retail Sales. Then, a fifth round, in-person, with the CEO of Savencia USA. It was a bit weird interviewing for an entry-level role and meeting the CEO. Finally, after all that, I had one last phone call with the HR Director. They finally offered me the job, two and a half months later. But then, right before I was supposed to start, they rescinded the offer. Honestly, be super careful if you're considering working here, especially with the management.
- Could you review my resume with me?
- Can you review my resume?
