Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Save-On Foods.
Sales Associate
The interview was pretty simple. Mostly asked about my experience with customer service and work in general. There were also some questions about problem-solving and dealing with tricky customers. It didn't take very long.
- Have you used POS systems before?
- Tell me about your past work and customer service background.
- How do you handle customers who are difficult to deal with?
Sales Associate
It was pretty standard, we just talked about my work history and if I was qualified for the job. It's easy for anyone trying to get into a union job. No reference checks were done.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
Sales Associate
The managers were very nice and understanding. It didn't really feel like a job interview though, they mostly asked about my availability instead of my personality or what I could bring to the job. They hired me the next day and told me to come to orientation.
- Questions about your availability rather than your personality or what you can bring to the job.
