So the first thing was this 30-minute technical screening, just checking my knowledge on Java, Spring Boot, React, and some SQL. Pretty basic stuff to see if I knew the fundamentals. Then came the main technical deep-dive, about an hour long and way more intense. Started with a live coding challenge, an array question like on LeetCode. After that, we went deep into my ERP project, talking about why I picked certain tech and how I handled security using JWT. The last round was with a manager or HR person. It was mostly about my past experience, how I work with others, and why I wanted to join them. A good mix of behavioral stuff and talking about my career path.

I had to complete an online test administered by a third-party vendor called Lugo-test. The test had a time limit of 100 minutes and included around 25 questions along with 4 coding assignments. Unfortunately, after the 100 minutes were up, the test indicated I was disqualified for using AI tools, which I absolutely did not. Some of the code I wrote executed perfectly, but it encountered errors when run within the test vendor's built-in IDE. One specific assignment failed with a 'Port already in use' error, suggesting an internal issue with the testing environment. It was a complete waste of 100 minutes of my time.

I had a call with HR where we talked about my salary expectations for a role that needs 3 years of experience. After I told them my expectations, they said it was too high and mentioned their budget was 20K ILS per month. I appreciate them being upfront about the budget which saves time for both of us, but the offer is below market value for this experience level. Since it wasn't a good fit, we stopped the process.
