The interview for the Concur Internship Program was quite laid-back. I had a 30-minute phone chat with two people from the team I was applying to. They went over my previous work history on my resume and asked follow-up questions based on that. They also presented two made-up scenarios and asked how I'd deal with them on the job.

I was surprised I got interviewed for this job, but not another one that fit my skills better. There was a quick recruiter screen, then a quick hiring manager screen, and finally an onsite panel interview. It seemed like there was still a lot of 'us vs them' between SAP and Concur, and I decided I didn't want to work there. It looked like a thankless job likely to fail. After I heard back that no offer would be made, the recruiter was dismissive when I asked about other jobs, even though she said to reach out with questions. I know people at other SAP offices who like it there, but this office felt like a holdover from a hostile takeover.

The process started with easy communications and then involved 4-5 rounds of interviews. I got to talk with leaders from various business units, including potential teammates, people from cross-functional roles, individual contributors, and managers at different company levels. The interviews were quite long, and it was clear the employees were invested in the decision and whether they'd want to work with me, either now or later.
