First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Santander.
Summer Analyst
It was a bit confusing, I thought I was talking to HR but it ended up being a manager. They only asked about my resume and I haven't heard back since. They went deep into everything on my resume, but didn't ask anything about the company or why I want to work there.

Analyst
So, the interview process started with a 15-minute phone interview, where the camera was off, and it was mostly about my motivations. Then, there was a longer interview on Teams, with the camera on, lasting about an hour. This one covered motivations, some behavioral stuff, and checking my commercial awareness. The final part was an assessment centre. This involved a case study and then an interview with a senior person from the specific division I applied to. They asked technical questions, though they said they were pretty simple, along with more motivational and behavioral questions.
- Can you explain what you know about transaction banking?
- What qualities do you possess that make you an excellent candidate for this position?
Analyst

The calls with senior analysts were pretty straightforward, involving interpreting software-generated results and performing basic calculations like profit margins. My experience with the directors was quite negative. One director seemed to mishly explain a task and was unwilling to acknowledge an error, while the other behaved unprofessionally.

- Could you tell me about the Python packages you've utilized previously?
- Discuss t-tests and z-tests, including the methodology for conducting them.
