Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samsung Research America.
Research Engineer
We started with a phone call with two engineers where they asked about my projects. Then, there was an onsite interview day. It included a 1-hour presentation and then 5-6 interviews with different team members. Most of these were about my past projects, but a couple involved coding. The last interview was with the hiring manager.
- Tell me about your experience with projects.
- What makes you want to join Samsung?
- Describe your greatest strength.
Research Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview. They asked me about my resume and gave me some coding questions. They also asked me a lot about my research experience, like why I chose a specific deep learning model or what signal processing methods I used to get rid of noise.
- Can you go over your resume with me?
- Tell me about your resume.
- Walk me through your resume.
Research Engineer
It was a phone call interview for an internship. Since it was for an internship, only a phone call was needed. A larger group of people interviewed me over the phone. It was a good interview process.
- Can you explain how you addressed the pre-interview challenge questions?
