Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samsung Electronics America.
Business Analyst
It's a two-interview process. The first one is with a manager, and it lasts 45 minutes. The second one is in person with two directors and lasts for an hour. There might be an Excel test during the interviews. The questions aren't too difficult, but they will assess your Korean language skills.
- What makes you choose Samsung over other well-known companies?
Business Analyst
The interview process was short and to the point. If you were interviewed by someone Korean, they seemed to focus more on your experience rather than your personality. Business casual attire is appropriate in California. For those of Asian culture, slacks or heels were not worn. Age doesn't seem to be a factor, as they consider both very young and quite old candidates equally. There's a high and rapid turnover here, so it's important to ask about the day-to-day functions of the job and how previous individuals have failed or succeeded in the role. You should also inquire about why the position is currently vacant.
- Can you share a strength that aligns with this job description?
Business Analyst
This was a straightforward process with behavioural questions. Since it was an entry-level position, there weren't many technical questions. It was mostly about what I was looking for and some questions around my past experience with project management and data analysis.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in joining Samsung?
- What was your experience like with project management previously?
- Can you describe your experience with data analysis?
