Customer Success Manager
I went through 6 interviews, spread out over more than a month. It kicked off with the hiring manager. After that initial chat, I had 4 more interviews: one with another CSM, one with a Sales Engineer, one with the group's VP, and one with the local GM – all really nice and experienced people. The whole recruitment process wrapped up with a final discussion with the hiring manager to tie up loose ends and address any lingering questions from the earlier interviews. There wasn't any technical test or presentation prep involved, it was all about questions about my background or just open chats about the role, the company, and the industry. It would have been a great experience if it hadn't dragged on for so long (almost 1.5 months). I get that a week was lost to the end-of-year holidays, but what about the other 5 weeks? The most frustrating part was after the final interview, I heard nothing. After 10 days, I emailed the hiring manager, but no response. On day 11, I contacted the recruitment team, and they confirmed they'd gone with another candidate (we were neck and neck, just the two of us in the final stage). If the hiring manager can't even be bothered to send a quick email to someone who invested over a month in their recruitment process, it says a lot about them.
- Can you tell me about the projects you've managed?
- What portfolios have you owned?
- Can you share an instance where you had to say 'no' and explain how you managed that situation?
Principal Solutions AI Engineer
Started with an initial call from the internal recruiter. Then there was a technical CV screen with the hiring manager. After that, a coding interview and an on-site round that included 4 interviews: one focused on ML, another on coding, one with a PM, and a team fit interview. Finally, there was an extra call with an SVP, which was also a kind of CV scan.
- Can you tell me more about your past projects in AI?
- What are your thoughts on general ML concepts?
- Let's try some easy coding problems.
Customer Support Engineer
The whole process was unprofessional. I made it all the way to the final interview, but then they ghosted me without a final response. The external recruiter even fed me lies, saying things like '[the manager] is out on travel, just a few more days until we get back to you.' This happened after I was told I'd already passed the technical screening. I took time off my current job for these interviews. It was incredibly disrespectful. It doesn't matter the company's age or if higher-ups changed their minds about the tech leads' decision. They should at least have the courtesy to communicate, not lie or ghost people.
- Can you explain deep learning fundamentals?
- How is your basic python programming?
- What's the difference between eager and lazy execution in PyTorch?
