Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samaritan's Purse.
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was informative and intensive, but ultimately straightforward. It's clear they prioritize Christ being central to your life. It did take a while to get a response from HR, which is understandable given the large number of applications.
- What is your approach to sharing the Gospel with someone unfamiliar with it?
Office Administrator
I saw the job posting on indeed.com, it had been up for a while, so I applied online. A couple of weeks later, I got an email for a video interview that I had to do within 24 hours. Two days after that, they asked me to set up a Skype interview, which I did, and it was two days later. They mentioned I'd hear back within a week about an in-person interview, but three days later they called to say they'd chosen someone else. The HR person was really nice and professional though. The video interview had 4 questions, with about 1-3 minutes to prep and 1-3 minutes to answer each. The Skype interview focused on agreeing with their faith and conduct policies, asking about God's calling and timing in my life, and also about how I'd do the job.
- What skills do you have as an office administrator?
Administrative Assistant
It was a virtual video interview. We were asked five questions on the screen and then had to answer them via video. We were given two takes to record ourselves. There wasn't a time limit for prepping before recording, but there was a time limit for answering the questions.
- What's the biggest misconception anyone has had about you?
