Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sam's Club.
Cashier
I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to apply here. My interview experience was unprofessional. The manager didn't remember my name even though she set up the meeting. I had to initiate the handshake. The interview was under 15 minutes, and she mostly talked about the job, not giving me much chance to speak. It felt very one-sided. At the end, she just said 'Okay, bye' and turned away. I wasted time preparing for this interview and got a rejection email the next day. I'm glad I didn't get the job because I don't want to work with an unprofessional manager. They need to train their managers on how to interview.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
Cashier
It started with a virtual interview asking general information, salary expectations, and preference for living nearby (max 30 min distance). Then there was an in-person interview in the area, followed by an interview with management.
- Tell me about your past job activities.
- What are your top 3 qualities?
- What are 3 areas where you can improve?
Baker
I applied for Baker and packager and was called in for an interview the very next day. I showed up on time and talked to two managers. They asked me about a different position that was open. It was a really quick interview. I have 15 years of experience in bakery and they didn't ask me anything about the job I applied for. It was the worst interview ever and I won't apply with them again.
- How has technology impacted the world?
