Merchandise Assistant
The interview process went well. They mainly asked about my past experience and the skills I would bring to the role if I were to be offered the position. My interviewer seemed genuine and focused on the opportunity to teach new skills in this role while also performing the core duties.

So the interview was pretty straightforward. They asked me about my past experience, specifically focusing on how I'd deal with constructive criticism from a manager. Then they asked if I had any questions for them. Finally, they wanted to know about my availability and if I lived close to the job site.

Store Director
This was a big waste of time and a disappointing experience given it's under the Saks banner. To TLDR: expect a five-round interview process and then not even get a courtesy rejection call. A recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn about an SD position far from my market. I stated the location was too far but asked them to reach out if an SD position opened in my actual city. They responded with a calendar link to schedule a chat. I was confused, what were we chatting about if I said the location was too far? Apparently, there was another location! Ok, I confirmed a time and received a Zoom link for an ASD role (in the location I already said was too far). I immediately reached out and was told the title was an error and the interview was for an SD position in another suburb outside my city, though not as far as the original. I was annoyed but figured why not? Big mistake. The recruiter was a bit conversationally awkward but liked my experience and wanted to move me forward. There was a disconnect with the pay range because my provided range accounted for the daily travel I'd have to do. They asked if I'd accept a salary within the range if they offered relocation; I found it odd for a company to offer intrastate relocation but said sure. They followed up via email stating relocation was off the table but they still wanted to move forward. I agreed, but reiterated my range remained the same. I then interviewed with the DM, RM, Head of HR, and Director of Stores over a month, with each interview lasting about an hour (except the Director of Stores). Communication from the recruiter was inconsistent, including a period where they were on PTO with no away message or heads-up, and I was contacted by the TA manager via text. After my final interview, I was just asked 'how did it go?' and after responding, there was radio silence for two days. After I finally asked what was next, they said they 'moved forward with other candidates but would keep my information on file'. What a waste of time.

The interview process was horrible. My HR contact changed my phone interview times three times and then told me the day before the interview that it would be 2.5 hours with 5 people. They didn't ask if I had that much time available or could be available for that long, and I have a full-time job, so they should be considerate. I let that slide and decided to see what the interview held. The first interviewer was nice, but then I waited for my second interviewer who never showed up. When it was time for the third interviewer, I waited 15 minutes and decided that a company that can't organize its interviews well isn't worth my time. They had no value for the time I took to come in. No one notified me or checked up on me to see if my interviewers even showed up. The worst place to ever try to get a job. It is a waste.
