It was a really drawn-out interview process. First, I had a presentation where I had to talk about my background and experience for about 20 minutes, and also give a technical presentation. Then, there were four back-to-back 45-minute one-on-one interviews. To wrap things up, there was a 10-minute follow-up call the next day. I also had two virtual interviews before the onsite.

I applied for a Senior Research Engineer role. After a couple of initial calls, including a video interview and a chat with talent acquisition, I had an on-site interview within two weeks. The on-site part was a bummer, they weren't prepared and seemed to overlook things, making me feel rushed and helpless. Some meetings with managers were just canceled without notice, so I'd just be waiting around. Afterward, silence. It felt like the managers, leadership, and recruiters were sloppy and unhappy, not valuing my time. On the plus side, everyone I spoke to one-on-one and during lunch was genuinely nice, giving me a good feel for the company and answering my questions well. Although I felt my time was wasted overall, I was glad to have met some professional folks at Saint-Gobain.

I was contacted by HR via email and scheduled an interview for three days later. The interview itself was a friendly chat with a manager and a senior HR person, lasting about an hour and 15 minutes. They presented the research center, explained the job's mission and goals, and introduced the team. I had a chance to ask questions, and then they asked me some general questions, nothing too technical.
