First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Safran.
R&D Engineer
The process was as follows: 1 HR phone interview, 1 in-person HR interview, 1 technical interview with the manager and 1 interview with the N+2. The whole thing took about 2 months.
- Could you name three of your strengths and three of your weaknesses?
Research and Development Engineer
It was in-person. There were 4 interviewers in total: one from HR, one professional engineer, and two co-op students who are interning for the position they are hiring for next year. They started with basic behavioral questions, then went into an in-depth description and Q&A about my resume, and finished with a 10-minute presentation on a topic I was told to research.
- Can you discuss the applications of Fiber Optics in Landing gears?
Research Engineer
I applied online on the Safran website. I got a call back within 2 days. Then there were 2 interviews with department managers, one of which included a technical expert who asked me technical questions about research topics on my CV. Finally, 2 HR interviews: one with group HR, then with site HR. I also did an eLAO language test and a behavioral test. Overall, the recruitment process was efficient and coherent.
- What are your strengths and areas for improvement?
- How do you see yourself in the medium/long term?
- Technical questions on the research topics mentioned in your CV
